Size Guide

The Holger Cardigan should have a positive ease of about 20-25 cm relative to the chest circumference. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-14) years fit a chest circumference on the body of 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (82) cm. The finished cardigan measurements can be found on the front page of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is met). If you/the recipient, for example, has a chest circumference of 62 cm, you should choose size 6-7 years. A cardigan in size 6-7 years has a chest circumference of 86 cm and in this case would have a positive ease of 24 cm. If the measured chest circumference differs from the age recommendation, you should adjust the length according to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is smaller or larger than average.
